This Medieval Norman Helmet with Aventail certainly has all the details necessary to be made for a noble or a king. This truly impressive helmet echoes the look of the classic spangenhelm, featuring a steel plated skull cap that is reinforced with metal strips. What separates this helmet from others is that these reinforcements are all highly decorated, featuring embossed and engraved designs along their lengths. These decorations continue down onto the nasal guard and the hinged cheek protectors. A mail aventail is attached to the back, for added defense.
This mask is constructed of hand forged 18 gauge mild steel. Each piece has been painstaking crafted using traditional hand forged methods. Strap it on to your head with 2 genuine leather straps and lock it into place with the buckle which can be adjusted to different size.
The open face style allows maximum visibility while still protecting the cheek and jaw line. The Functional Open Face Steel Helmet is constructed of polished 18 gauge steel. Handmade with a soft leather adjustable suspension liner and chin strap are provided for securing the helmet on.
The shell is constructed of thick steel. This means our helmet is as heavy and as solid as an original. The shell is large. The liner comprised of soft genuine leather that, just like the originals. Liner size can accommodate head sizes 7 1/4 up to 7 51/2 . The all leather chinstrap connects to the helmet with proper rings. The finish/color is "smooth gray-green" or "field-grau".

Sugarloaf helmet is variation of top helm with sphero-conical dome. It was popular in Europe in the first part of XIV century. This helm is made from 20g steel with real brass accents. The lower portion of the helmet consists of two parts that are riveted to the dome. The brass accents form a cross that attaches to the front with eye slits. The front features several holes for ventilation. Inside a leather suspension liner is provided for comfort and includes an adjustable chin strap with steel buckle. A steel loop is also provided to hold the extra leather tight from the adjustable chin strap. The sugarloaf helmet is easy-to-use and provides with perfect protection during medieval fencing.
