This knife has a decent lock. Locked every time. Safely. It is a little on the heavy side. The ASSISTED OPENING is a little slower but still functions. For the price, this makes a good EDC. You can afford to use and abuse it if need be. ONLY gets a 4-STAR grade just because I HATE to buy from CHINA. (Then why did you, dummy!?) Because I have to offer folks a low-cost assisted opener and this one fits the bill. It ALSO is a NICE LOOKING KNIFE. -The BladeQueen
